Leadership Team

As the current CHW Management Group LLC Founder & President Sonia Coffee, is charged with guiding the day to day operations of her uniquely assembled African American owned golf course management company through the collective guide of a highly qualified team of professionals. Sonia’s, priorities include promoting superior client and operational services across every sector of golf club facilities. Integrity and transparency is paramount to her success plan. In addition, to managing her team, she serves in a pivotal role as Guzzo & Garner Custom Builders as Comptroller, Chief Compliance Officer and Project Manager.  Managing the day to day finances of more than $20 million dollars over the last several years which led to building 12 new homes worth more than a million dollars each as part of building communities. Recently Sonia, and her company were featured in the “Parade of Homes” showcasing the great work and products it provides it’s client base.

Prior to  Sonia’s entrepreneurial birth and vision.  Faith, work ethic, civic engagement and volunteerism shaped her growth from humble beginnings.  Starting as a golf caddy during her youth, while later she would go on to work for the State of Ohio, Bureau of Workers Compensation Claims, supervising a team for  more than ten years and working at Ohio State University Athletics department for 17 years with vehicle parking systems and services. In all, Sonia’s  strong managerial skillsets in servicing and collaborating with public and private sector stakeholders on government, residential, real estate acquisitions, small business ownership, human resources, business management,  financial management, construction, renovation and overall project management performance and compliance expertise makes her uniquely qualified. Sonia’s  charitable and civic commitments are felt through visiting and helping women, men and children residing in homeless shelters by  donating clothes, food,  and serving as listening ear. 

Additionally, Sonia’s  recent political involvements include volunteering with  Chicago City Council 16th ward Alderwoman Stephanie Coleman, in her campaign to victory,  while at the same time voicing strong support for then  City of Chicago, Mayoral candidate  Lori Lightfoot, who is also a native of Ohio. In her private time Sonia enjoys golf, horseback riding, cooking, football and most importantly, spending time with family while traveling.  

A native of Columbus  Ohio, Gerry,  serves as the current Chief Executive Officer and PGA  Pro with CHW  Management Group LLC .  He's a PGA teaching professional who has always felt a call to service. After playing basketball at Ohio University in 1988 he changed directions accepting a golf scholarship to St Augustine University, where he served as team captain, winning several championships and awards. Upon graduation, Gerry played golf professionally competing on numerous tours before joining the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) and reaching the elite ‘Class A’ status. 

As a visionary and change agent, Gerry began his gift of teaching, while focusing on youth instilling inherent values of golf. They included lessons on honesty, integrity, discipline, academic excellence, teamwork, and service. For nearly 25 years, he’s been a beloved coach and mentor to hundreds of children throughout Ohio and afar, through using golf as a tool to open doors, leading to economic, professional and personal success.

Gerry founded the Adopt a Junior Golfer program in 1994 providing opportunities to under served youth in the game of golf. In 2001, Gerry started the First Tee of Columbus Chapter where he was awarded the 2001 Coca Cola Tiger Woods clinic which generated $250.000 dollars for the program and further expanded his efforts with the establishment of the Hammond Golf Academy in 2008. 

Gerry, has been the recipient of several awards being honored as the 2005-2006 US Kids Top 50 Junior Golf Instructor, 2007 Southern Ohio PGA Junior Teacher of the Year and was recently selected as PGA Teaching Professional Honoree for the 2017 PGA Centennial #ThxPGAPro Campaign. The campaign featured a video on Gerry airing on CBS nationally during the 2018 PGA Championship. Gerry is truly a humanitarian and legend in his time and will be remembered for generations to come bye way of the countless efforts and initiatives yet to be born through his strategic and humbled partnerships in the very near future. Marcia,  serves as Vice President of Facilities Management with CHW Management Group LLC. Marcia began her career at Rickenbacker Air Force Base Hospital and Dental Clinic as Supervisor of Facilities Department until 1978 until it’s permanent closure.  In 1979, Marcia  joined Columbus Public Schools (CPS) as the only woman to ever pass all 3 State regulated test at the same time. Marcia  embarked on a remarkable career where she would assume an enormous undertaking serving students, parents, teachers, and administrators which lasted 37 years. Marcia was responsible for health and wellness of all while working as a member of the Facilities team sanitizing schools with professionalism, integrity, and most of all industry best practices. Years later Marcia was recognized for her outstanding leadership rising through the ranks as the Facilities Superintendent where she led and supervised facilities management citywide to include grounds maintenance, disaster preparedness, construction management, contract planning with vendors, performance of equipment, schedule of events, integrity and compliance of students, employee relations, budget management, expense reporting,  safety and risk management for thousands of people daily. While in this position at Fort Hayes Career Center she prepared the campus for a once in a lifetime historic opportunity as the city of Columbus Ohio, prepared to host United States President Obama's  visit. Marcia received the highest level of government clearance to work with  secret service security detail and as a result of her impeccable service during the President’s visit. Marcia received an honorable mention, personal praise and a National commendation from President Barack Obama. Because of her unwavering trust and commitment President Obama, offered Marcia  a position with the U.S. Secret Service team where she would travel with to prepare venues prior to the President’s  arrival. While Marcia has retired with an impressive public service record after 37 years. Prior to retirement, Marcia’s strong work ethic challenged her to energy level which led to 33 years of employment with Ohio State University managing parking facilities and all aspects of the operations. Marcia  enjoys football, and is an avid golfer having played for more than 25 years currently and travels around the country playing in various tournaments with multiple wins under her belt as a rare for black women whom play golf which are very few.
